I am fundraising for Jolly Good Chaps Napier to Wellington 50cc Scooter Charity Challenge

The Grand Annual Jolly Good Chaps Napier to Wellington 50cc Scooter Charity Challenge is a somewhat torturous charity event where participants ride a 50cc scooter from the Furniture Clearance Co carpark in Napier to the Wellington CBD.

It’s all about raising as much money as we can for local Hawkes Bay charities and yes 100% of the funds we raise go to our chosen charities.

Please support me by donating today. Every dollar counts!

The scoot got a little TLC on Thursday, so I decided to take it for a spin this morning to see how it’s running. Honestly, it feels just as quirky as ever! 😂 I cruised around for about 50km in the stunning Hawke’s Bay, soaking in all the beautiful sights. 🌳🏞️

Later, my mate Guru hit me up, saying he was heading out on his Indian and invited me to tag along for some handy tips. 🏍️💨 We zipped over to the Patangata pub for a well-deserved refreshment before making our way back home. 🍻 Huge shoutout to Guru for being so patient and sharing his wisdom—I truly appreciate it! 🙌

While on the thank yous another shoutout to the Chief of our Tupore Trekkers team, Rowan! 🎉🚴‍♂️ He arranged for the 7 of us to go out on a group ride last weekend. It's such a different vibe riding together than solo! 🌟 He had some hair-raising moments being the sweep of the group, but he shared some handy tips and tricks with us all! 🤪💨 Thank you Rowan. I think you might have extra grey hair now.

All in all, my behind has racked up a solid 130km today, and boy, am I feeling it! 😅 This 330km challenge is going to be quite the test for my backside! I think I’ll be investing in a sheepskin seat cover to cushion the ride. 🐑

I’m starting to understand the allure of motorcycle breakfast runs. 🌅 There’s something magical about the quiet and the sheer fun of it all! Not sure I’m ready to tackle more than 50km/h just yet—my nerves might not handle it! 😂 I think I’m beginning to enjoy the scooter life. The wind played nice today, so there was significantly less helmet-screaming about being whisked away! 😜

Attached are some snapshots of the gorgeous scenery around Hawke’s Bay. 📸 And guess what? The challenge is just six weeks away!! ⏳🌟
Please clink on the link below if you would like to make a donation. It can be any amount. Every $ makes a difference. Thanks to much.

The decision!

🚀 Buckle up, folks, because I've signed up for something that might just boggle your mind! On March 1st, I'm revving up for the wildest ride of my life: a 50cc scooter challenge with my fabulous work crew! 🌟 We're zipping (well, more like puttering) from Napier to Wellington—a whopping 330km adventure that’s set to take anywhere from 7 to 10 hours, depending on how many snack breaks we take. Spoiler alert: my derrière is in for a serious wake-up call! 🛵💨

Now, let me take you down memory lane. Back in South Africa, I was too chicken to hit the highways in a motor vehicle —like, full-on cluck cluck! 🐔 But ever since I made the leap to NZ, I’ve been conquering the open road like a boss! 🚗💪 It’s been a total game changer, and I’m loving every minute of it.

So, you’re probably wondering, “Why put yourself through this, especially with your history?” Well, this isn’t just an exercise in butt endurance; it’s a charity challenge! 🎉 This year, we’re raising funds for two amazing local charities: I AM Hope and Big Brothers Big Sisters. These organizations make a real impact in our community, which has been my home for the past six years, and I want to give back! ❤️

If you feel inspired to help me tackle this wild ride and support some incredible causes, I’d be forever grateful for your donations! 🙏 Every single dollar counts and goes straight to making a difference in our community. So, hit that link below and let’s do this together! Thank you a million times over! 💖✨
